The service

TrailSnag transmits trail-issue reports to the organizations that manage the land in question, and gives them tools to triage, fix, and document those issues. The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability.

Not an emergency channel

TrailSnag never replaces emergency services. If someone is injured, lost, or in danger: call 911. A TrailSnag report is not monitored in real time.

Acceptable use

• Report real problems, observed by you, at the location indicated.
• Do not include other people's personal information in photos or descriptions (recognizable faces, licence plates, addresses).
• Do not use the service to harass an organization or flood its triage queue.

Submitted content

You keep ownership of your photos and descriptions. By submitting them, you grant TrailSnag and the managing organization the right to use them to process the report, document the fix, and — if the organization publishes its map — display the report publicly.

The role of managing organizations

Each organization remains solely responsible for the maintenance of its land, its priorities, and its response times. TrailSnag transmits and documents reports; it does not guarantee any intervention on the ground.
